The north route (58 dirt miles) to Soldier Meadows Ranch through the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge is on a road only serviced for summer use. Long lengths are in excellent condition, while many sections deterorate to some degree of eroded, muddy, rocky, sandy, or washboarded conditions. While the road south (46 dirt miles) of Soldier Meadows Ranch is more routinely traveled and can accomodate faster travel, you can still expect the occasional sandy or washboarded sections.
